1864 - FEATURE FILM
Hearts bleed in love and war

The world seems innocent and full of hope to the brothers, Laust and Peter, as they grow up in poor but safe conditions. The brothers are both enamored with the estate manager’s daughter, the beautiful and well-read Inge, and Inge reciprocate their love. But when the war against Prussia breaks out, Laust and Peter report for duty in the Danish Army.

The relationship with Inge helps the brothers through the encounter with the horrors of war, while it also creates a dispute between the otherwise inseperable brothers, when the brothers along with thousands of Danish soldiers fight one of the bloodiest battles in Danish history. The slaughterhouse at Dybbøl in 1864, that changed Denmark forever.
