Daniel Alfredson, born 1959, is one of Sweden’s most prominent directors.

In 1990 he directed his first TV-production, The Evening News (Kvällspressen), scripted by Jan Guillou. He continued to direct a number of feature film thrillers, among them the Guldbagge awarded The Man on the Balcony (Mannen på Balkongen, 1993). He was awarded another Guldbagge for the film Tic Tac (1997) and has also directed, Straydogs (1998), the TV-movie The Death Bell (Dödsklockan, 1999) based on a novel by Kerstin Ekman, and Sinners in Summer Sun (Syndare i Sommarsol, 2001).
